10 Steps to Achieving a Relaxing Bath
10 Steps to Achieving a Relaxing Bath
1. RELAXING LIGHTING
Set the mood with the right lighting. Bright lighting is not relaxing and will only heighten your senses. Candles make for great lighting during a bath - a few scattered around the bathroom make a huge difference.
2. SOOTHING SOUNDS
Set your phone or iPod away from the tub to prevent it from getting wet and adjust the volume just loud enough to hear from the tub. Whatever type of music soothes you, switching the dial to that and just prepare to relax.
3. AROMATHERAPY IS A MUST
Sight and sound aren't the only senses you need to tap into during your bath. Scents can help adjust your mood as well! Lavender essential oil is wonderful for relaxing and can be found in several of our bath salt blends.
4. JUST ADD SALT VIA PACIFIC, DEAD SEA OR EUROPEAN SEA SALT!
Time to choose which salt is your favorite or what your body is craving: Need a muscle relaxing salt - try Sleep Lavender, Acai Antioxidant or Harmony. Eczema, acne, or psoriasis giving you a hard time- Any of our Mineral Dead Sea Salt is the one for you, they offer Aloe Vera, Vitamin A, C & E and Therapeutic properties! You are ready to calm down – try Summer Beach or maybe you need a pick me up try – Citrus Mimosa. If you want your Man to smell manly try – Zen For Men or perhaps you want her to smell like a flower try – Rose Dead Sea Salt. If you want your kids to get in on the fun try – Bubble Gum Bath Salt. You want complete pampering on your mind try – Cleopatra Milk Bath. If you like a good foot soak or some rejuvenation try – Green Tea. My personal favorite is a mixture of the salts together for maximum benefits.
There are benefits of the Dead Sea which is well known through ancient times that it promotes: Circulation, Metabolism, Relaxation, and assist with conditions like: Arthritis, Fatigue, Migraines, Dandruff, Eczema while maintaining the skin moisture levels as well as nourishing skin cells and helps to provide the natural anti-allergenic protections.
5. PREPARE FOR POST BATH
Make sure that your favorite fluffy towel and robe are waiting for you when you get out of the bath. You want that wonderfully relaxed post-soak feeling to last as long as possible after you get out.
6. DITCH YOUR PHONE
You might be tempted to bring your phone into the tub to read, check social media, or play the latest addicting game (like Candy Crush!). But leave your phone out of this. The tub is a technology-free zone.
7. CLOSE THAT CURTAIN
A step that many of you probably do not follow! Close your shower curtain to keep the heat of the bath and the scent of the aromatherapy in. It also helps to add another layer between you and the rest of the world!
8. SOAK THOSE WORRIES AWAY
Replace all thoughts that are stress inducing and focus on all the positive things around you, leaving out any negativity. Reflecting on the good things in your life can leave you feeling centered and peaceful.
9. A GOOD TIME TO EXFOLIATE
Right before you get out of the bath is a great time to grab your loofah, or your salt scrub and exfoliate. Focus on areas prone to dry skin like your elbows, knees, and feet that tend to get breezed over quickly during morning showers.
10. USING ORGANIC SOAP
Before you completely indulge in removing yourself from the world, consider using Organic Soap, this will only help boost some of the things your body is missing. It will also assist from stripping your body natural oils away. We offer a nice selection to choose from like Lavender - Relaxing, Herbal Garden – Favorites of the Garden, Fresh Air Prairie – Just Fresh scent, Peppermint – Invigorating with menthol crystals oils, Shea Honey Oatmeal – Extra Moisturizing, Citrus Mimosa – Mellowing, Oatmeal Cinnamon Spice – Rich and Spicy, smells like Cinnamon, Calming Bergamot Bar – Uplifting from Madder Root and Extra Scrub Soap - Exfoliating to name a few.
When the time comes for your bath to come to an end, don't fret. This can become an essential part of your relaxation routine! Dry off with the fuzzy towel you set out, moisturize your freshly exfoliated skin then slip into your robe and head to a cozy yet un-cluttered room and bed.
This is a time to get away from the world, don't rush it!
